Our socks are knitted in Germany’s second-oldest sock factory. For more than 130 years, Lindner Socks has crafted fine socks and hosiery at the edge of the Ore Mountains – now in its fifth generation. We use a delicate two-ply merino yarn, spun and dyed in Italy by Südwolle, Germany’s renowned wool spinning group.

How much is the production cost for The Merino Sneaker Socks

The making of a wool product starts almost two years before it can even be sold and consumes a significant amount of energy and resources. We believe it’s only fair that you know where your clothes are made – and what it takes to create and develop a product like this.

FAQ

Can I wear the socks for several days, like the T-shirts?

Of course – the same principle applies. If you air out your socks for at least 24 hours after wearing them and keep up personal hygiene, you can wear them more than once, before you should wash them.
That said, feet sweat a lot and socks can take a beating between foot and shoe. A quick smell test will tell you if your socks are still fine or ready for a wash.

Why not socks made from 100% merino wool?

We wanted socks without plastic. We tried – completely without, and almost without. But neither attempt convinced us. Socks made from 100, 90, or even 80% merino wool wear out too quickly. So today, our socks are a compromise: with polyamide and elastane, they’re strong and flexible enough to last a long time. That durability mattered most to us. But we’re not done – we’ll keep looking for ways to reduce the synthetic fibers (plastic), step by step.
