The Circular Knitting Mill
Hof, Bavaria, Germany
Est. 1949
In 1949, company founder Carl purchased two knitting machines from a neighbor who was closing his business and began knitting fabrics for underwear—just like hundreds of small enterprises in the Franconian textile region did at the time. In 1986, Reinhard started as a knitter, and just ten years later, he took over the company. He learned the craft from the ground up and became a living encyclopedia of knitting. Due to price competition from Asia, he specialized in abrasion-resistant fabrics made of aramid. But for us, he is returning to his roots. With all his passion, meticulous craftsmanship, and tradition, he is developing with us the most beautiful circular knit fabrics from the finest and purest wool. Reinhard is our fabric laboratory, and together we have already created unparalleled fabrics.
